Common Loons
The eerie, trembling calls of common loons echoing across bodies of water is a sound that stays with you forever, once you've heard it. Loons each have their own signature yodel, and if they move to a new territory they will change their yodel. Kacie, Eva, and Jerome each come to The Common Loons with their own songs and unique voices, which in turn are given new overtones and inflections when they exist in the harmonic scenery of the trio. In recordings and live shows, the three singers come together to create harmonies that move like bird song across still water.

Maeve & Quinn
Maeve & Quinn is an Alaska-raised, Chicago-based duo. Their new album, Another Door, is an affirmation of possibilities, especially when the future feels unclear. Anchored in the blood harmonies, lyrical melodies, and dynamic interplay of multi-instrumentalists Maris and Bryce O’Tierney (classically trained on guitar, voice, violin, piano), the album is an intimate conversation between lifelong friends - something these Alaskan twin sisters know well. Written & recorded in Chicago during the pandemic, Another Door is an imaginative & genre-bending collection of alt rock-pop-folk songs that occupies its own singular sound. Maeve & Quinn formed in 2016. The duo’s rigorous training and performance in classical music set their foundation, launching a decorated trajectory that began in Anchorage, Alaska, & continued through their earning of performance degrees at Northwestern’s Bienen School of Music, outside Chicago. The open, majestic landscape of an Alaskan upbringing can be felt in Maeve & Quinn’s music and performances. Their lifelong friendship as twin sisters makes for a unique collaboration and songs that are multi-layered in perspective and fluid between past and present. Avid musical improvisers, the duo in their early days were influenced by the genre cross-pollination of Chicago’s music scene. They also had a formative songwriting period together in Dublin, Ireland, where Bryce was a poetry master’s student at Trinity College and both sisters were immersed in the storytelling culture of the local Irish community. Maeve & Quinn’s catalog includes EPs Something Overhead, Something Overhead (2018); Star-Crossed (2021); and LP Another Door (2023).

Miranda Mallard
Where legato, melodic, heartfelt singing and raw, ethereal songwriting meet. Miranda has sought to find her own unique voice and style from the tradition of song weavers such as Joni Mitchell, Vashti Bunyan, Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor, Feist, Joanna Newsom, and Anais Mitchell.
Like the bards of old, she braids the stories and musings of her own life as well as the inspiration in the world around her creating songs that reflect on motherhood, broken hearts, beauty and injustice. Her music is contemplative, full of longing, and takes the listener to an internal world. Miranda’s recordings are dreamy, lush, and filled with textural harmonies harkening back to her classical training, choral background, female duo Dagmar, and trio Rock Paper Scissors. Her debut solo album, 'Shenadune,' was released in July 2023.
Originally from the spacious cornfields of Iowa, Miranda currently resides in the California Bay Area.
