Celebrate the joys of Christmas at our annual Festival of Lessons and Carols with Incarnation’s Scola Cantorum, guest soloists, and organist, Vaughn Jones. The service follows the traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols made famous by the Christmas Eve service held in annually at King’s College Chapel, Cambridge, England.
The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Christian worship celebrating the birth of Jesus. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir music.
Vaughn Jones
Vaughn Jones is a native of St. Joseph, Missouri and a graduate of the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He and his wife, Gloriann lives in Daly City and have four children and seven grandchildren. Vaughn has served as organist and choir director at many Lutheran, Catholic and Episcopal churches in the Bay Area since 1974.
