The Union League is a Philadelphia landmark and historic institution which was established to support the cause of the Union in the Civil War in a city which was largely Southern sympathizing. The Union League has continued to serve an instrumental role in Philadelphia scholarship, politics and philanthropy. Abington Township native and resident Dr. Lentz is principal of the Abington School District's McKinley Elementary School, and is involved in numerous other community and philanthropic organizations including the Union League of Philadelphia, where he serves as a member and a docent.
