Omnivore Books on Food
Celebrate the release of House of Nanking: Family Recipes from San Francisco’s Favorite Chinese Restaurant with celebrity chef and entrepreneur Kathy Fang at 6:30 pm on Monday, September 29 at Omnivore Books. The evening will feature a live conversation moderated by award-winning travel journalist Ali Wunderman, followed by an audience Q&A, book signing, and time to mingle.
Attendees will be serving wine provided by Broc Cellars and light bites, including an Asian-inspired charcuterie board, while learning more about Kathy’s culinary journey, the legacy of her family’s iconic restaurant, and the stories and flavors behind the cookbook. Written by Kathy and her father, Peter Fang, the founder of the legendary San Francisco restaurant, the cookbook honors the restaurant's rich history, shares many of its famous recipes, and lovingly recounts the Fang’s deep-rooted passion for serving authentic Shanghainese home cooking.
