Elizabeth Farnsworth Launches Her New Novel "Last Light"


Local Berkeley author and documentary filmmaker, ELIZABETH FARNSWORTH, presents her new book "Last Light" about a newspaper reporter at a post-WW II military hospital, hired as an interpreter for the US Army, to gain sensitive intel from from a particularly intriguing German POW. Mystery and intrigue eminate throughout this engaging novel. Elizabeth will be joined in conversation by freelance editor and co-founder of Mrs. Dalloway‘s, MARION ABBOTT. ELIZABETH FARNSWORTH author, documentary filmmaker, and former chief correspondent of the PBS NewsHour, has written for publications ranging from The Nation Magazine to Foreign Policy. Her memoir, "A Train Through Time: A Life, Real and Imagined", was published in 2017. As a print reporter and for television, she has covered crises around the world. Farnsworth serves on the advisory board of the Human Rights Center, UC Berkeley School of Law, and the advisory committee of the World Affairs Council of Northern California. She lives in Berkeley, California. After beginning her career in trade book publishing, MARION ABBOTT co-founded and co-owned Mrs. Dalloway’s Bookstore from 2004-2021. Her short stories, essays, and book reviews have appeared in anthologies, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Washington Post, and Lithub. She now works as a freelance editor and is writing a book about her years as an indie bookseller.
