ARTIST BIOS
Esoterica Tropical (Electro-Afro-Puerto-Rican-Harp)
Esotérica Tropical, a queer Boricua bruja, defies boundaries with her intuitive folk harp, Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba rhythms, and electronic innovation. Her music transcends mere auditory experience, leading listeners on a mystical journey through magical, decolonial, and transcendent realms. Esotérica Tropical's musical universe is rooted in a continuous process of discovery and care, where trauma is transformed into art.
Bomba Performance by Batey Tambó
Batey Tambó is an Oakland and San Francisco-based, women of color-led, cultural group grounded in the centuries-old musical tradition of Afro-Indigenous Puerto Rican Bomba. As an embodied musical tradition Bomba is the result of the transatlantic slave trade and a tool for survival practiced by freed Africans (Cimarrones), in alliance with TaÃnos in Puerto Rico, to communicate, pray, agitate and organize revolts. Batey Tambó continues in that service of healing and liberation, through the music and dance tradition of Bomba, by offering classes, facilitating workshops and creating space for performances on the stage and in the community that honor the complex histories and experiences of our diverse Latinx Diaspora.
Yohm
Yohm began the journey as a DJ in the year 2000 playing vinyl reggae, funk and hip hop records. Over the years his sound has evolved into a blend of world influenced fusion beats with thick bass drops. Known for playing remixes of classic tunes and medicine bass. Yohm (pronounced like Yo and Ohm) is a combination of Yosef's birthname and one of the most healing sounds on Earth. With a sharp focus on clean mixing and composing a journey through different genres, Yohm's energetic sets keep the crowd engaged and satiated for hours.
Vaidehi Amair (Indian Mantra Bass)
Vaidehi Amair is a creative entrepreneur that loves to share spiritual knowledge and mantra through music and dance. Born and raised in the Bhakti Yoga tradition, she has a love for mantra and hip hop and now produces her own mantra bass hip hop music with ancient Sanskrit chants. Her vision is to bridge the culture of Bhakti Yoga into the world of music and festival culture.
