Okizu's 28th Annual Art Inspiring Hope Gala
The mission of Okizu is to help all members of families affected by childhood cancer to heal through peer support, respite, mentoring, and recreational programs. Each dollar raised at Art Inspiring Hope goes directly to support a child’s summer camp experience. Because of our minimal administrative costs and our generous all-volunteer camp staff, the funds we raise on this special night can be earmarked solely for camp operations. For more than 40 years we have made our services available to Northern California children affected by pediatric cancer and their families free of charge, due in large part to this annual event. After providing two years of virtual programming, we were thrilled to welcome our campers back to Camp Okizu in person at rented campsites in the summer of 2022 and will do so again in 2023. The search for a camp home of our own continues, after the destruction of our Butte County camp property due to wildfire in 2020.
