Continuing a tradition started a few years ago, Secret Psychedelica will reintroduce the Pisces zodiac party in two parts with Pisces 2023 on March 11th as the winter season finale. The original Pisces party spawned as a Secret Psychedelica theme night back in 2002 with only two guest DJs back then. Over the years, it has grown and moved through various venues before finding its home at the DNA Lounge in 2018. To celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the first Pisces party at the DNA Lounge, pisces princess NYX will be in town to deliver a proper psytrance stomping. Also for this special occasion, fellow water sign, Stereoxide, has graciously included this night as a stop on his current US tour.
NYX will be making her return to San Francisco following her phenomenal sets at last year's How Weird Street Faire and the Official How Weird Afterparty. Originally from South Africa, NYX now resides in Vancouver, Canada and has been carrying the psytrance torch in the Great White North since her move. Her two compilations, Seekerz and Seekerz II on PsynOptiz Records, are great examples of the full on frequencies she will bring to the dance floor. You might be seduced by soft strings and trippy textures or you may be punished with pulsing bass lines and swirling synths. Either way, she will lead you on a journey you will never forget.
Stereoxide is scorpio psytrance producer, Jesse Cabrera. While Mexico is his home country, Jesse also called Switzerland his headquarters for some time. While there, he produced magical tracks under the name Blue Grow and as Helber Gun with progressive trance artist Ramon Macias. While these side projects generated many successful releases, it's the Stereoxide sound that has ventured into the most creative aspects of Jesse's music. With the intention of creating a space for trancers to celebrate existence without judgement, the Stereoxide project has been all about launching dancers into a multi-layered psychedelic voyage.
Kanaiiya and the Juice Box DJs will also be a part of this school of fish in the psytrance room. Don't be tardy for these pisces DJs as they will be starting class with a full psychedelic trance curriculum right as doors open. The second room for the evening will be hosted by Metamorphosis featuring the sounds of drum & bass. The Doctor, a longtime Pisces party DJ, will be joined by Dominik Audio, Ephemera, and Kngtrdr who will be making their Pisces party debuts.
