Three friends escape into the Santa Cruz mountains in search of a place to swim and BBQ. They packed for the beach without realizing they had a treacherous hike down a ravine. Once at a waterhole the consumption of some shrooms sets the stage for a heartfelt adventure between friends too tired to know how to rest.

This bilingual psychedelic comedy was written in the depths of the pandemic as a way to find connection and joy through all the hell around us. Made up of an all Latinx cast, playwright, director, and composer, with a majority of the design crew being Latinx as well, Exhaustion Arroyo is "unapologetically bilingual and queer because my community is" as explained by playwright W. Fran Astorga. Tackling relevant crucial topics of white fragility, worker's rights, how we commune with Mother Earth, and more - all while still trying to find the humor in the chaos with your fellow community members.
