The Ruckus Revival: Hellalujah! A Night of Divine Debauchery
Join us for our big “Hellalujah” celebration at The Ruckus Revival! Ruckus is the biggest renegade variety show in the Bay Area, and the Huffington Post calls us "one of the best underground performance art shows in America!"
This August we take you on a wild ride through salvation and damnation in a religious themed free for all with holy rollers, pyromaniac preachers, dancing devils, rowdy reverends, rabble rousing rap stars, pagan stripshows, cult comedy, sacreligious satire, nuns kicking the habit and more! Featuring premiere acts, the return of underground rap legend B Dolan, shocking sideshow by Charlie Pain, a Baphomet pole celebration by Jessikr and all sorts of tasty and hilarious surprises!
The Ruckus Revival is packed with uncensored circus acts, raucous stand-up comedy, sizzling burlesque, stunning pole performance, freestyle rap battles and hip hop lyricism, aerial performances, beat-boxing, slam poetry, jaw-dropping sideshow, dirty haiku bouts and audience-interactive mayhem in a fast paced night of unfiltered entertainment!
The winner of multiple "Best of the Bay" awards, and called "consistently the most spectacular event that Oakland's ever seen" by the East Bay Express, the SF Chronicle calls Ruckus "a dazzling, inspiring and celebratory display of talent" and "a tent revival for misfits and freaks, those whose artistry or spectatorship has a homespun bent and a bandit streak."
Hosted by Jamie DeWolf (HBO’s Def Poetry Jam and NPR's Snap Judgment) and Wonder Dave (Mental Health Comedy Hour), with DizzyfromEarlier, Little Glitter Bomb and the beat-boxer Syzygy.
