Community Poetry Open Mic with Featured Reader Mia Ayumi Malhotra
Join us for an evening of poetry at the library’s monthly Community Poetry Open Mic Series with featured reader, Mia Ayumi Malhotra! Come share a poem or two or sit back and listen. The Open Mic will be followed by a reading and book signing by Mia. Light refreshments will be provided. Copies of Mia’s most recent works will be available to purchase from the author. All poets, poetry enthusiasts, and the poetry curious are welcome.
Registration required for readers, no registration required for listeners.
Readers will be contacted prior to the event with timing guidelines.

Featured Reader Bio
Mia Ayumi Malhotra is the author of Mothersalt (Alice James Books, forthcoming 2025) and Isako Isako, a California Book Award finalist and winner of the Alice James Award, the Nautilus Gold Award for Poetry, a National Indie Excellence Award, and a Maine Literary Award. She is also the author of the chapbook Notes from the Birth Year, winner of the Bateau Press BOOM Contest. Mia holds degrees in creative writing from Stanford University and the University of Washington, and she is a founding member of The Ruby SF, a gathering space for women and nonbinary artists.
