Local Authors Night: Three Authors Discuss Their Work and Process
Join us for a night with three local authors who will each share their work and discuss their writing processes.
Snacks and refreshments will be served at a reception at 5:30 pm.
Rick Ackerly is a nationally recognized educator and writer with 45 years of experience working in and for schools. A graduate of Williams College, the Harvard Graduate School of Education and The Graduate Theological Union, he speaks to parent and school groups across the country. Rick is also the author of The Genius in Every Child: Encouraging Character, Curiosity and Creativity in Children and What Schools Can Be: A Guide for Educators. His blog Genius in Children has over 300 essays on children, parenting and education. Rick’s poetry book We Are Not Alone came out in 2020.
Patty Fitzimmons (alias Curran Galway) has a degree in English and a Master of Divinity degree from Seattle University in Transformational Spirituality. She has been a wisdom teacher and transformational coach for 20 years. She is an inspirational speaker, leading retreats and facilitating workshops. She is also the published author of three novels focused on spiritual awakening and connecting to the divine.
Kimberly Weichel is a thought leader, women's leadership champion, cross-cultural specialist, author, educator, and non-profit leader who has worked on the forefront of building bridges between cultures and peoples for over 30 years. She has directed and led women's leadership organizations, international projects, peacebuilding initiatives, and cross-cultural education programs. She is the author of several books, most recently Beyond Borders: One Woman’s Journey of Courage, Passion and Inspiration (2016), Our Voices Matter: Wisdom, Hope and Action for Our Time (2019) and Uncovering New Possibilities: Insights From Our Time (2021). www.kimweichel.org
