This vibrant cultural and spiritual procession marks the relocation and grand opening of the new St. George Ethiopian Orthodox Church at 1300 Polk Street. The event will begin with a sacred Tabot procession—symbolizing the Ark of the Covenant—and continue with music, dancing, chanting, and traditional pageantry. What to Expect: • 🎵 Live traditional music from 30+ Begena musicians • 🕊️ Priests and deacons in liturgical dress carrying the Holy Tabot • 🌿 Incense-burning ceremony along the route • 🥁 Sunday school choirs and drums • 🎺 Cultural floats, including a replica church on a trailer • 🎉 Free and family-friendly celebration for all backgrounds • 🇪🇹 Ethiopian flags, traditional dress, food vendors & more!
