Anxiety is one of those invisible disabilities that people don't understand and judge making parents and their teens feel helpless and alone. Jennifer Taylor, Founder & Managing Consultant, Jet Ed Consulting, a therapeutic and academic consultation and coaching service based in San Francisco, and Jonathan Kiesler, Head of School, Fusion Academy Marin, an accredited middle and high school with personalized and customized one-to-one learning, will discuss how to support teens struggling with anxiety along with their families to get the hope and help they need. Together they will cover how families find support and resources for their teens and their parents to reclaim peace and joy in family life. Jennifer will share her story and professional experience in helping teens with anxiety and their families to regain hope, resilience, student success, and well-being. Jonathan will share his insights as an educator and discuss how students’ lives and academic success can be transformed through love, mentorship, and learning. Speakers Jennifer Eve Taylor, JD Founder and Managing Consultant Jennifer Eve Taylor, JD, is the Founder of JET ED Consulting, a therapeutic and academic consultation and coaching service based in San Francisco. JET ED Consulting specializes in advising and supporting students and families affected by learning differences and emotional challenges, most of whom need treatment out of the home. Jennifer has extensive experience helping to place students with mental health diagnoses into appropriate therapeutic programs —which vary from acute psychiatric hospitals to wilderness camps and specialized boarding schools. Ms. Taylor’s expertise is highly sought after as a speaker for parents, educators, conferences and learning institutions including Sonoma State University, Marin Department of Public Health, Marin County Schools and STAR Academy. Some of her more notable engagements include her podcast with Karin Gornick (executive producer for the films Angst, Screenagers and Like), contributing articles for the Marin Independent Journal and commentaries for NPR’s All Things Considered. Ms. Taylor is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of San Francisco School of Law. A lifelong learner, she is now pursuing a Certificate in Clinical Psychology from Harvard University. Jonathan Kiesler Head of School Fusion Academy Jonathan Kiesler, Head of School, Fusion Academy Marin, is a champion of mental health and wellness for his students and our Fusion community. Jonathan is creating opportunities for his students to engage in the important conversations about mental health and wellness in our community. Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts, where he double majored in Philosophy and Theology from Marian University in Indianapolis. He earned a Master’s degree in Theology from Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio and a Master’s degree in Catholic School Leadership from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. Before working at Fusion, Jonathan worked in the Catholic School system in Texas since 2011 where he has both taught and served as Principal.
