5th Annual San Antonio African American Book Festival
The San Antonio African American Book Festival (SAAABF) is held every year, on the Last Saturday of Black History Month at Second Baptist Community Center (3310 E. Commerce Street) right next door to the prestigious G.W. Carver Branch Library on the historic Eastside San Antonio, Texas. This Annual Black History Month event was created to celebrate the Power of Black Literature, reinforce the fact that Representation Matters and to proudly Encourage Black Economics.
The 5th Annual San Antonio African American Book Festival will be held on Saturday February 24, 2024 from Noon – 5:00pm and will feature over 60 Authors from throughout the United States. This is an amazing opportunity to support Black literacy and learn about different aspects of life from the African American perspective. We will also provide activities for Children and Teens next door at Carver Library.
The San Antonio African American Book Festival has grown to be one of the largest Black/ African American book festivals in South Texas and is an event the whole city can be proud of. This year we are starting a “Library Card Challenge” – we are challenging all of our attendees to visit Carver Library and sign up for their San Antonio Public Library Card because a community that reads together succeeds together.
