8 x 8 Cabaret du Jump
Cabaret du Jump (named by late company member Sterling Houston) is a decades-long
Jump-Start tradition. Originally the cabaret was a means for company members to
experiment with performance ideas at artistic retreats, which often led to the
development of full-length productions. Twelve years ago, Jump-Start decided to invite
community artists and audiences to join the company for a Cabaret du Jump presented
on an 8’ x 8’ stage. An open architectural cube now serves as the 8’ X 8’ X 8’ playing
area.
Artists for this year’s 8 X 8 include Jules Vaquera, Anthony Garcia, Irene Chavez, Tyler
Cozart, Amalia Ortiz, Paul Harford, La Familia Bernal, Catie Carlisle, Kimberlyn
Montford, y más, más, más!
