Park(ing) Day on Houston Street
What began in San Francisco in 2005 has since grown into an international movement embraced by more than 160 cities across 35 countries.
We’re proud to bring Park(ing) Day to life locally through a dynamic collaboration with the 80|20 Foundation and Texas ASLA – South Texas Section. Together, we’ll animate the Houston Street corridor in our emerging Downtown West district with pop-up parks, public art, playful installations, greenery, and placemaking projects led by local creatives, nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations.
This is more than an event—it’s a movement.
Interested in sponsoring a space? A sponsor is a community group, organization, business, city department/agency, or individual activator that “sponsors” a metered parking spot or streetscape and is ultimately responsible for creating/activating a small park or experience within the space.
