Celebrate San Antonio’s groundbreaking role in Spanish-language broadcasting at a special panel honoring the pioneers who shaped Latino media nationwide. Join Martha Tijerina, Guillermo Nicolas, and Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez on Friday, September 12, as they explore the legacies of Raoul A. Cortez, Emilio Nicolas Sr., and Martha Tijerina, visionaries who launched the nation’s first Spanish-language radio and TV stations and paved the way for generations of Latino journalists.
This free event, part of Diez y Seis de Septiembre celebrations, includes a special exhibit running September 12 to October 10 at the Bexar Heritage Center. Don’t miss this inspiring look at San Antonio’s media history.
