This historic visit marks the first time in more than two decades that San Antonio has hosted the relics, last seen in the city in 1999, when more than 75,000 faithful and pilgrims came to venerate and reflect on her life and faith journey.
St. Thérèse, a Carmelite nun from Lisieux, France, is beloved for her “Little Way”, a spirituality of simplicity, humility, and love. Though she died at just 24 years old in 1897, her writings, letters, and reflections have inspired millions across the globe. Canonized in 1925 and later declared a Doctor of the Church, St. Thérèse’s message transcends time and denomination: greatness is found not in extraordinary deeds, but in ordinary acts of love done with extraordinary faith.
Throughout the visitation, the Basilica will host special liturgies, prayer services, and opportunities for quiet reflection. Pilgrims from across Texas and beyond are expected to attend. All are welcome, regardless of faith background, to experience this unique occasion of grace, peace, and inspiration.
