Muusic at Noon Free Concert Friday July 12 at the Davis Unitarian Universalist Church

SACRAMENTO YOUTH SYMPHONY FLUTE ALUMNI STARS - Flutist Natalie Kowalski devotes her energy to performing, educating, and collaborating. In 2023, she received a Bachelors of Music Performance from the University of the Pacific (UOP) Conservatory of Music. Natalie specializes in solo and chamber ensemble works and has showcased her skills in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 UOP Honors Recitals. She was awarded first prize in the Sacramento Flute Club Soloist Scholarship competition in 2022 and 2023. During her time at UOP, she regularly performed with the UOP Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the University Symphony Orchestra as principal flute. Her influential instructors include Dr. Brittany Trotter, Professor Matthew Krejci, and Vicki Bell-Shaevitz. She plans to continue her education by pursuing a Masters in Instrumental Performance at CSU Long Beach under the instruction of Dr. Jennifer Olson. Marley Logan was a member of The Sacramento Youth Symphony's Premier Ensemble and the C.K. McClatchy High School Concert Band. She performed in the National Flute Association's High School Flute Choir in Phoenix and also earned First Place in The Sacramento Flute Club High School Competition last year. She currently studies under the tutelage of Vicki Schaevitz (five years) and looks forward to majoring in flute performance in college. Rudy Mahajan is a freshman at UC Berkeley majoring in Chemical Engineering and Genetics and Plant Biology. He has played flute for 9 years and is a member of the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra. In the past, he has performed with the Davis High School Symphonic Band and Orchestra, Sacramento Youth Symphony, University of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, California All-State Symphonic Band, and Sacramento Flute Choir. Rudy currently studies under Stacey Pelinka. Estevan Romero is 20 years old and is in his 4th year at UC Davis where he is a double major in biochemistry and molecular biology as well as flute performance. He has been playing for 10 years and he currently studies with Maki Kuper and Stacey Pelinka. He has played as the principal flute of the UC Davis symphony orchestra for the last two years and has also played with the UC Davis Concert bands, UC Davis Sinfonietta, and various chamber ensembles. During the summer, he is a counselor at Northern California Flute Camp and in his free time, he loves to spend time with friends and family.
