19th Century Farm Life in the Bristol Valley
How Bristol, N.Y.’s first farming families pooled their labor and other resources to establish the area’s earliest farms and businesses – and how that work, cemented by the bonds of family and church, formed a community. SUNY Geneseo student researchers reveal findings from their past year’s efforts to piece together the story of the earliest European-American farms here and their research to map the locations of the region’s oldest surviving barns.
