A Closer Look: WWII POW Veteran
The Bennett family immigrated from England and settled in Holcomb, NY in the late 19th century. Two generations later, the family sent two sons - Charlie and Bud - to serve in World War II. Presenter Janet Hillenbrand will illustrate Charlie Bennett's experience during and after the war - his pilot training, missions, B-17 crash, POW experience, and his eventual return to Holcomb, where he served as mayor.
