Remain Present
Remain Present is a collection of original work by American artist Nicholas Roes that considers the traces of gesture as evidence of the artist’s presence. Each work carries traces of its making through movement, texture and the accumulation of material. At a moment when images can be generated, reproduced and circulated with increasing ease, Remain Present returns attention to emphasize painting as a physical encounter between artist and material. On view alongside the main collection at International Art Acquisitions, located at 3300 Monroe Avenue, Rochester. Admission is free.
