Through the Student Lens 2023, Image City Photography Gallery; 722 University Avenue 3/21-4/16/23

For the 14th Edition of "Through the Student Lens 2023," Image City Photography Gallery Partner Don Menges contacted high schools throughout Monroe County. Don coordinated with the 19 teachers who responded, and each school selected 10 photos, with no more than two from any one student. The Flower City Arts Center Photo Club Program, “Studio 678,” which includes middle school students from Wilson Foundation Academy and James Monroe High School, also are participating. The selected student photographs include a wide variety of subject matter, including landscapes, portraits, food, abstracts and much more. This is one of the most popular shows at Image City. Since this annual event began in 2014, visitors have marveled each year at the talent and creativity students bring to the exhibit. Visitors will enjoy a visit to Image City to appreciate the talent of the young photographers and each of their photographs. The photo chosen for the promotional postcard and poster, entitled "Air Jordan,"created by Aurelia Mendoza and Carrie Hurts of Greece Athena, is a keen example of the creativity. We appreciate Michael Hager of Museum Photographics, who printed all of the student photos and Jason Cambell of Frameworks of Rochester for mounting them.
