On the Edge of Abstract; Opening Reception/First Friday: September 6; 5:00-9:00 pm

In the bustling world of photography, Image City’s exhibition, On the Edge of Abstract, invites viewers on a journey, where the realms of the tangible and the conceptual blur. Don Menges, the coordinator of this show, says his hope is “to demonstrate how several photographers interpret the same concept.” Abstract photography often defies the traditional expectations of capturing the visible world, instead focusing on form, color, texture and pattern. On the Edge of Abstract pushes this notion further, exploring the delicate balance where the abstract intersects with the recognizable. The exhibit showcases Image City Partners Don Menges, Steve Levinson, Gil Maker, Luann Pero, Betsy Phillips, and John Solberg, who navigate this frontier, offering viewers a diverse exploration of abstraction. In addition, Joe Occhipinti exhibits his photography in the Neuberger Gallery. David Braitsch and Steve Dent are the Visiting Artists. Guest Photographers include John Ejaife, Joe Jech, Salvatore LaDelia, Matthew Weeg, and Paul Yarnell. Additionally, Gallery Partners, Dick Bennett and Marie Costanza will be displaying some of their photos. Opening Reception and First Friday Gallery Night are on September 6, 5-9. There is no admission fee and the gallery is accessible to everyone.
