Aquatic Invasive Species and Stewardship in the Finger Lakes Region
This program will highlight species that are threats to waterbodies in the finger lakes region and will include a workshop on the identifying features of these species. The second half of this presentation and workshop will focus on the Finger Lakes PRISM Watercraft Inspection Steward Program. This portion will highlight the importance of data collection, education and outreach, and aquatic invasive species spread prevention measures. This will include analysis developed using our steward data from the 2023 season as well as walking community members through the process of cleaning, draining, and drying a watercraft to prevent the spread of Invasive Species.
