In November of 1963 President John F. Kennedy was assassinated leaving behind a civil rights bill in Congress that did not look like it would be passed. Kennedy's successor, Lyndon Johnson had been the Senate Majority Leader in the 1950’s and knew how the system worked to get things done. This eventually led to the passing of one of the most important pieces of legislation in American history!
