In 2002, the Women’s Health Initiative Study of Hormone Replacement Therapy was abruptly stopped and an entire generation of women were no longer routinely offered hormone therapy for menopausal symptoms. Once the media fervor quieted, the study findings were analyzed in more detail. With the more nuanced review and further studies, better guidance is now available for those experiencing disruptive menopausal symptoms. Dr. Amy Harrington will address the historical use of HRT and the more updated evidence for its use today.
