Constrained by social media and immersed in excessive social drama, humans are drifting away from the connections that hold society together. Humorous, thought-provoking, and entertaining, Stuck in our Screens seriously considers how social media and bad adult behavior are affecting our interpersonal relationships. Through the lens of human development and research-based narrative, Allen offers actionable advice about how adults can re-envision and reshape their personal and collective social identities—and along with it, the future of humanity.
Kathleen P. Allen earned a doctorate degree from the Warner school for her research into adolescent social drama. She has published her findings about social drama in several academic journals. Born and raised in Rochester, she has worked as a high school English teacher and professional development consultant on such issues as bullying, harassment, and abuse. She retired from the Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention at University at Buffalo, SUNY in 2023.
