Kick Off Summer Vacation at the Victor Farmington Library’s Readathon on June 26th! Friday, June 26th, is the Victor Farmington Library’s 3rd Annual Readathon. This daylong celebration of reading is a great way to kick off summer vacation. Special readers will take turns reading their favorite children’s books out loud, creating an entertaining read-aloud marathon at the Victor Farmington Library (VFL). The fun begins at 9:00 am and runs through 6:20 pm. Some will wear costumes to engage the audience, while others will share activities. Caregivers of elementary-aged and younger children will especially enjoy this free community event, which doubles as the perfect opportunity to pick up your Summer Reading challenge! Featured readers include local author Kathy Blasi at 9:20 am, Karalyn Istavan of Victor Robotics at 1:20 pm, local author Sarah Mead at 4:20 pm, and much-loved teacher Mrs. Bock at 5:00 pm. Entertainment highlights include a visit from therapy dogs at 9:30 am, STEM activities and demonstrations by Victor Robotics, and a visit from two K-9 Officers from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 Unit at 6 pm. While you’re here, enjoy complimentary refreshments from Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters, the Friends of the Victor Farmington Library, Fire on Main, and Molly V’s Ice Cream. The Victor Farmington Library thanks these partners and the incredible local businesses and organizations who have teamed up with the library to create this one-of-a-kind celebration just as summer vacation begins. Their help, coupled with the funds raised by participating reader-fundraisers, provides much-needed support for the Victor Farmington Library, enabling us to continue adding offerings for Victor and Farmington residents.
