ARRL Field Day for New or Inexperienced Hams
ARRL Field Day is coming to Yucaipa! Saturday, June 22 10 AM to 2 PM is the opportunity for local amateur radio operators to gather together and practice their craft in a friendly and supportive environment. While our focus is on amateur radio operators, better known as hams, this event is open to the general public interested in a demonstration of the value of ham radio.
Field Day is conducted annually throughout the country. This year, we are conducting Field Day with emphasis on the new or inexperienced HAMS as well as the general public. The event includes demonstrations of amateur radio in a field setting and includes multiple radio equipment and frequencies. For many new hams the first radio calls are the most difficult and downright scary. During our event we take the fear out of making radio calls.
If you have been curious about whether amateur is right for you, this is the time to come out and see how amateur radio works in a day-to-day basis and how it will work during a disaster. Remember, when all other forms of communication are out, amateur radio is still there.
This event is open to all ages as amateur radio is a family friendly activity for the entire.
