Gatsby Afternoon Picnic
The Art Deco Society of Virginia's 12th Annual Gatsby Afternoon Picnic will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 (Rain Date: Sunday, September 22, 2024)! Enjoy a pleasant day on the beautiful grounds of Wilton House Museum. This year we’re celebrating the 100th anniversary of George Gershwin’s masterpiece, “Rhapsody in Blue” and we’re encouraging blue-themed picnic attire and picnic displays. In any case, come dressed for the occasion, bring your best picnic dishes (there will be no food or beverage sales), and transport yourself to a simpler time. Entertainment will include:
- The 1920s sounds of local favorites, the Grace Street Seven
- An open dance floor for all guests to Charleston, swing, and otherwise dance the day away
- This year's contests will feature Best Dressed, Best Picnic Display, Best Pie, and a return of the ever popular Charleston contest!
- Picnic games such as musical chairs, croquet, and more!
- Photo booth with a professional photographer
- And of course, the fabulous vintage road warriors of the Old Dominion Model A Ford Club will be in attendance
Admission: $25/$20 ADSVA members. Advance tickets will be available for purchase beginning on August 21st. Admission will also be sold the day of the event via card or Venmo only. No Cash.
