The Crucible
The Crucible By Arthur Miller Directed by Emily J. Mattison
Inspired by the 17th-century witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts, this iconic story challenges the ideas of power, fear, and justice. The play follows a group of young girls raised to be seen and not heard as they discover their voices and accuse members of their community of witchcraft. As paranoia consumes the village, it reveals the power each individual wields and the moral choices they must make.

Performances take place at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts located at 922 Park Ave.

The run time is two hours and 45 minutes, including a 15 minute intermission.

All tickets are general admission. The VCUarts Theatre Box office is now cashless—please purchase tickets online or in-person with a credit/debit card. The box office opens on site one hour before performances, and seating typically opens 30 minutes before performances.
