In the years following World War II, turmoil gripped the Southeast Asian nation of Korea. With the fight of communism at its center, North and South Korea were locked in conflict; the North supported by communist China and the U.S.S.R., while the South was aligned with the United States. When the Armistice was finally signed, the death toll had reached over 2.5 million people. Join VWM Assistant Director of Education, Kyndall Drumheller, as she highlights many of Virginia’s heroes who selflessly fought and died for a country that wasn’t their own to defend a people they never knew.
