The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams
Richard Henry Lee, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, and others gathered at the Raleigh Tavern in Williamsburg to pen a resolution for the establishment of a “standing committee of correspondence and inquiry.” These Virginians had a vision to bring unity to the thirteen colonies of North America.
Join us as we mark this important anniversary with an exclusive lecture featuring one of the newest books about the founding era by Stacy Schiff, The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams.
Stacy Schiff is the author of Vera, which won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for biography, and Saint-Exupéry: A Biography, which was a finalist for the 1995 Pulitzer Prize. A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America (2005) won the George Washington Book Prize. Her most recent book, The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams, was named one of The Wall Street Journal’s 10 Best Books of 2022.
