2ND BEST FEST / Angel Bones / The Basement

The Coalition Theater is thrilled to present its 7th Annual 2ND BEST FEST, running June 6-8, featuring improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy acts from all over the US, crammed into 3 magical nights at 2 different venues! Our final fest day features the return of beloved Chicago-based Angel Bones, whose show at last year's Fest received rave reviews. Featuring Nox! from the Washington Improv Theater, and the Coalition's own Street Jelly for an improv show you will not want to miss! Performing at the Basement theater on 300 East Broad Street. House opens at 6:30PM / Tix: $15 Limited tickets available at the door! ----- Angel Bones is an improv super group that combines the very best of Chicago improv – veteran performers who have perfected the art of present, patient, and honest improv mixed with absurd whimsy. Angel Bones is made up of performers from iO, The Second City, and UCB. CAST: Lindsey Smith, Mike Brunlieb, Emma Pope, Jenelle Cheyne Born in the cereal aisle at Kroger, Street Jelly emerges as one of Coalition Theater’s newest teams with the highest percentage of advertising majors. Enjoy exploring worlds and stories with grounded and emotional characters, as well as the occasional trip to large locations that could fit several small locations inside of it. CAST: Kenneth Stephens, Jonas Benz, Shawn Hambright, Nick Tenaglia, J. McClain, Emilee Bruski, Mikaela Uricheck, Katie Samuelsen Based at Washington Improv Theater in DC, Nox!'s play is fueled by the mantra “get weird,” resulting in comedy that is often dark, physical, and high energy, yet patient. They aim to be the most dynamic and versatile long-form improv troupe in DC. CAST: Geoff Corey, Aaron Mosby, Aubrey Peterson, Bethany Stokes, Brianna Lux, Chris Ulrich, John Heiser, Nina Hsu, Tandra Turner, Matt Winterhalter Located in Richmond's Downtown Arts District, the mission of the nonprofit Coalition Theater is to build an inclusive space where laughter connects people.
