Celebrate Earth Day with us! Stony Point Fashion Park will be holding a paper-shredding event by Shred-it in the parking lot right by the main entrance and Saks Fifth Avenue. Customers and surrounding residents can drive-thru to drop off documents such as old tax returns, credit card receipts, legal documents, and more. The paper is then shredded into confetti-sized pieces and bundled and recycled into paper products.
Community Shred-it events raise awareness about identity theft and fraud by reminding neighborhood residents about the importance of securely destroying personal documents. They are held in communities all over North America and offer neighborhood residents with an opportunity to have their personal documents destroyed for free or for a nominal fee, by on-site shredding trucks. Shred-it branches hold their own events or partner with community agencies to raise funds for various charitable causes.
