The 70-Year Legacy of Brown v. Board of Education Panel Discussion
Governor McDonnell and Delegate McQuinn would like to invite you, and any guest you think will be interested, to a two-day event observing the 70-year legacy of Brown v. Board of Education on Friday, September 13th, and Saturday, September 14th.
Friday's event will feature a keynote speech from Rev. Dr. John W. Kinney, Director of the Center for African American Pentecostalism and Leadership Development at Virginia Union University. After the keynote, we will engage in a panel discussion featuring Dr. Carmen Foster as moderator and leaders from Virginia's faith community as panelists.
On Saturday we will hear from a panel comprised of individuals born during the 1954 era moderated by Dr. Cassandra Newby-Alexander, Professor of Virginia Black History and Culture at Norfolk State University. These individuals will share their reflections on how the Brown decision shaped the trajectory of their lives, careers, and relationships.
