Within a year of Appomattox, a small band of Irish-American Civil War vets conceived a modest little plan to help their relatives and friends back home on the Ould Sod. All they had to do was to invade and conquer Canada, the second-largest country on earth, and hold it ransom until the British Empire would agree to free its earliest colony: Ireland.
On April 13, join the Irish American Society of Richmond to examine this forgotten chapter of Irish-American history, and learn how, for three days, a posse of ambitious Irishmen controlled a tiny piece of Ontario.
