Artspace in Richmond Opens New Exhibitions from April 26 to May 18, 2024 Opening Reception: Friday, April 26, from 6 - 9 p.m. Artist talks: Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. On exhibit in the Main gallery are artworks by three distinguished artists: Donna Frostick presents “The Myth of Memory”, in collage. Painter and collagist Donna Frostick blends realism and abstraction, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in scenes that are otherworldly and yet somehow familiar. Robert Wilhelm, “Unnatural Selection”. Sculptural art works. Robert Wilhelm is an artist living and working in Santa Fe, NM who enjoys working in both the fine art and product design worlds. Farida Hughes. “Embedded Poetries”, Paintings. Farida Hughes is a Baltimore, Maryland visual artist, whose work is distinguished by vibrant color and translucent layerings of shapes. Also on view in the Main Gallery is a group show of artworks by Artspace members. In the Elisabeth Flynn-Chapman Gallery are works by Susanne K Arnold, Lee Hazelgrove, Elizabeth Magness and Ed Tepper. . Mixed Media In the Artspace satellite exhibit space at Natalie’sTaste of Lebanon, is an exhibition of ceraminccs entitled, Up Against the Wall”. Artspace is a nonprofit, artist-run organization of experienced professionals as well as emerging artists who work in a variety of mediums including clay, encaustic, interactive installations, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, and more.
