"Intro to Birding" Masterclass @ Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club
The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, a distinctive, AAA Four Diamond hotel property located on Duke University's campus, is hosting a free “Intro to Birding” masterclass with the New Hope Audubon Society (NHAS) on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9-11 a.m. in the Rotunda Room. As part of this one-of-a-kind experience, guests will explore a variety of bird species and learn how to observe size, behavior, color and sounds to identify the birds they see and hear in their backyards.
In addition, the NHAS will lead an outdoor walk and birdwatching session on the Al Buehler trail, also located at the Inn. Guests should dress for the brisk outdoors and wear comfortable walking shoes. While the NHAS team will have binoculars for participants to share, guests are invited to bring their own pair.

New Hope Audubon is an independent chapter of the National Audubon Society, serving Chatham, Durham and Orange counties and parts of central North Carolina. It strives to inspire and promote the conversation of birds, other wildlife and ecosystems through conservation, education, advocacy and outdoor enjoyment.
The NHAS masterclass is part of the “Dive Into Durham” Masterclass Series – a free weekly program hosted by the Inn and the neighboring JB Duke Hotel in which experts from across the Triangle area share their professional insights and insider tips to help hotel guests and community members develop personally and professionally.
