This event is a call to celebrate trees and create a sense of community purpose toward the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. Arbor Day is a national holiday dedicated to planting trees and spreading awareness about the benefits trees give to the environment. On Arbor Day, communities gather to plant trees and celebrate how important they are to the planet. Arbor day in North Carolina is designated as the first Friday following March 15.
