“Artful Evenings” Artist in Residence Series @ JB Duke Hotel
The JB Duke Hotel, a AAA Four Diamond retreat on Duke University’s campus, is partnering with the Durham Art Guild to present Artful Evenings, an artist-in-residence series showcasing standout creative talent from across the Triangle. Each Tuesday, a featured artist takes over the hotel’s sleek Lobby Lounge, transforming it into a living, breathing art studio where new masterpieces come to life before your eyes.
Throughout the series, guests will experience a rich tapestry of mediums — from vibrant acrylics and classic oils to intricate graphite pencil drawings and unique mixed media pieces — highlighting the depth and diversity of the local creative community.
Guests can sink into plush lounge seating, sip a handcrafted cocktail and watch the magic unfold from the first brushstroke to the final flourish. The evening pairs perfectly with shareable plates and seasonal entrées from the Lobby Lounge — an experience that feels equal parts gallery opening and night out.
