WHAT: 300 million Americans don't have contact with a Veteran, yet eighty percent of Veterans are successful in business and have the skills and expertise desperately sought by employers. That's why on October 20, the Union League of Philadelphia will be hosting its inaugural Veterans Job Fair to share stories and help leverage workforce opportunities for Veterans and their spouses.
The free event will feature exposition tables and participants will include Union League members and their organizations. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive one-to-one mentoring from area business leaders and personal feedback on their resumes. The Union League seeks to put Veterans and their spouses in touch with exceptional organizations looking to hire exceptional leaders.
As part of the Union League's ongoing efforts to support the 100,000+ Veterans who call the Delaware Valley "home, this free event offers a tremendous opportunity for Veterans to receive help transitioning into the civilian workforce. MORE: In 2014, with dedication to the motto "Love of Country Leads? and to support those who have served this country, members of the Union League formed the Veterans Initiative. The "V-Team? consists of members, supported by League staff, dedicated to matching member businesses with Veterans seeking jobs.
Dress Code: For men: Jacket and collared shirt are required at all times on the first floor members-only section of the League House. For women: Dresses, blouses and skirts, or pants suit are appropriate.
