The Shops at Skyview, a multi-level shopping destination in Flushing, Queens (https://www.theshopsatskyviewny.com), invites the community to its vibrant “Mid-Autumn Celebration” on Sunday, October 5th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The center’s Mid-Autumn Celebration is a colorful and deeply significant event among Asian communities and is the second most important festival after Lunar New Year in many Asian countries. Meant to be a time for gathering and family reunion, the Mid-Autumn Celebration at The Shops at Skyview will feature cultural dance; a live music performance; mooncake and tea tastings; and traditional wardrobe experiences, including Chinese Hanfu and Korean Hanbok. Schedule of Activities: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- Cultural Dance Performance: Attendees are invited to experience a captivating blend of Chinese ribbon dance inspired by the legend of the Moon Fairy, presented by the award-winning D&M Dancing Art Studio, along with a Korean drum dance performed by the renowned Korean Traditional Music and Dance Center.
- Live Music Performance: Attendees will enjoy a fusion of traditional and modern sounds featuring the erhu, pipa and guzheng performed by MISS, a New York-based all-female band dedicated to promoting Asian instruments.
- MooncakeTasting: Attendees can savor famous Hong Kong MX Mooncakes, snacks, and pairing teas available from Skyview retailers.
- Traditional Wardrobe Experience: Guests will have the chance to step back in time by trying on traditional Chinese Hanfu and Korean Hanbok attire, then snap a photo at the immersive photobooth.
