"The Day the Music Died" featuring Phil Bruschi

Don Mclean's iconic song "American Pie" released in 1971 repeatedly mentioned "The Day The Music Died." He refers to the 1959 plane crash, which killed the early rock and roll performers Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens. One theme of the song seems to be the loss of innocence of the early rock and roll generation as symbolized by the plane crash claiming the lives of these young singing heroes. Phil will discuss the careers of such artists as Jim Croche, Harry Chapin, John Lennon, Ricky Nelson and more while singing their hit songs. Join Phil for this enlightening and entertaining program. Any questions, please contact the reference desk at 732-671-3700 ext 320.
