City of New Rochelle's Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony

The City of New Rochelle is expressing its commitment to being an environmentally responsible place to live by hosting community events throughout ‘Earth Month’ in April and May, aimed at furthering sustainability. All events are free for New Rochelle residents with registration. The upcoming “green events” are a part of a year-round initiative and commitment to strengthening resilience within New Rochelle, while also engaging with the community in ways that activate the City’s vibrant public spaces and parks. "We are excited to continue our series of City-hosted Spring programming into Green month this April, with each event intentionally aligned with our commitment to sustainability. Creating livable and equitable cities means not only meeting the needs of today's generation but also ensuring that future generations can thrive without compromise,” said Vincent Parise, Commissioner of Parks and Recreation. “We are actioning our dedication to sustainability through these ongoing events and initiatives like GreeNR and LINC — aimed at celebrating our open spaces, enhancing energy efficiency and bolstering recycling rates. Only together can we chart a course for the next two decades that prioritizes smart growth, environmental stewardship, and economic vitality.” Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony – New Rochelle celebrates Arbor Day with the planting of a new tree in the city’s Feeney Park, with the help from students from local Columbus Elementary School. The City of New Rochelle is recognized by the Tree City USA program for providing programs and public offices to further the growth and planting of trees throughout the community over the past 30 years.
