Opening Reception: Land, Sea, Sky - Paintings by David K. Anderson & Erin Starr
Join us as we welcome Rhode Island painters David K. Anderson and Erin Starr for an opening reception of their latest work!
Erin Starr:
My painting series is inspired by the elements of Earth and beyond and its organic depth of color. I see inspiration in landforms from above, water’s transparency and movement, rocks and minerals and their multiple layers of colors. My paintings combine a mixed media of acrylic, oil, ink, and flashe vinyl, spray paint, as well as gold and bronze powder, mica, and melted plastic on linen canvas.
David K. Anderson:
Realist artist, David K. Anderson, grew up in southern New England and spent much time as a child at the beach. He now resides in Providence, Rhode Island, close to the ocean, from where he draws his inspiration. The sand, the grass, the dunes and ever changing sky and sea provide Dave with a visual palette to create detailed representations utilizing watercolor, acrylic and pastel mediums. Dave has exhibited at the Newport Art Museum and his works are included in both private and corporate collections. He has a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Fine Art from the University of Rhode Island.
The Landing is located at 101 Dyer Street in downtown Providence, above Capriccio Restaurant. Parking at meters throughout our neighborhood is free on weekends. There are also 2 parking garages behind our building on Pine Street. Admission is FREE.
