WSO Concert – The Colors of the Orchestra


SUNDAY – December 3, 2023 @ 3:00pm St. Bernard Church: 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown, RI 02852 The WSO brings classical and orchestral pops performances to communities across Rhode Island. As a regional volunteer symphony, the WSO seeks to deliver high-quality live music and affordable performances to diverse communities. WSO ensures accessibility and appeals to a wide-ranging audience of varied backgrounds through programming that seamlessly between classical and orchestral pops programs. With our diverse membership ages teen through 70+, WSO will present a program of classical and holiday works, that celebrate the color palette created exclusively through the instruments of a full symphony including: Festive Fanfare – Brian Balmages L’adoration du St. Sepulcre - Sigismund Neukomm Concerto Grosso, Op 6 No 8 – Arcangelo Corelli Capriccio Espagnole, Op 34 – Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov Rocket Sleigh – Delvyn Case The Bells of Christmas – Bob Krogstad, arranger And MORE… This program includes performances by the full symphony, strings alone, and winds-brass-percussion alone, plus solos passages featuring Gia Antonlini – violin 1 / concertmaster, Ann Danis – principal violin 2, Emily Johnston – principal cello as well as principal winds: Kaleigh Cipoletta – flute, Xander Wilkinson – oboe, and Robert Nanna – clarinet. With the changing nature of health and welfare guidelines, WSO encourages audiences to wear masks if ill or in the case of possible exposure to viruses including COVID and influenza. Concert Admission Tickets for WSO performances are always available at-the-door, but also can be purchased online at WSOri.org starting November 1, 2023; tickets are: $20 General Admission, $15 Seniors and Students with valid ID, free (but ticketed) for Children 12 and under. This activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
