The Canine Couture Show
Hosted by NRF and community partner PLFLA, this unique dog fashion show held at “Ruff” Point is inspired by Doris Duke’s legendary style. NRF founder Doris Duke was a supporter of animal welfare and advocated for their well-being. She famously lived with dogs, cats, and camels at her homes, including Rough Point. Many of her pets were adopted from the Potter League for Animals.
The Newport Canine Couture Show, held from 4-7PM on Saturday, June 7th, invites the public to bring their dogs to the beautiful grounds of Rough Point, on Newport’s famed Bellevue Avenue, for an evening of fashion, festivity, and philanthropy. We will have a photo booth for pups to pose and treats for all, as well as a fashion show featuring the area’s most runway-worthy canine companions. An exciting feature of the event will be our Pet-tique Marketplace, featuring Aquidneck Island and East Bay’s paw-focused and paw-friendly businesses.
